Before the official launch of the MDSCert certification scheme, the foundations of today’s program were laid through extensive preliminary evaluations and collaborative work between Google and three evaluation laboratories (Dekra, SGS Brightsight and Atsec). Between the early development phases and the official launch of the MDScert scheme, more than 70 projects were carried out under the “MDSCert Preliminary” framework.

These legacy projects played a crucial role in testing the methodology, refining the evaluation process, and demonstrating the feasibility and value of a dedicated certification scheme for mobile device security.

While these projects were not issued under the official MDSCert scheme, they provided the experience and evidence needed to launch a trusted, internationally recognized certification program.

To ensure transparency and historical completeness, all those legacy projects are listed here. It is important to note that:

  • These projects were not conducted under the official MDSCert certification scheme.
  • They do not represent certified products.
  • Their inclusion is solely for historical reference and to acknowledge the contributions made during the development phase of MDSCert scheme.
