Security certification of SE/Digital Key Applet implementations intended to be used in Car Connectivity Consortium-Digital Key (CCC-DK) recognized End-User Devices is a requirement of the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC).

The CCC-DK certification scheme for SE/Digital Key Applet security evaluation (CCC-DK Scheme) has been specifically designed as the means to achieve this security certification, enabling product implementing the CCC-DK Technology to demonstrate protection against state-of-the-art attacks on the CCC-DK secure assets, at a high level of assurance.

TrustCB has been appointed by the CCC as Certification Body for this scheme.

The CCC-DK Scheme has been made a mandatory certification element in the CCC-DK certification scheme framework for End-User Devices.

CCC requires developers and certification sponsors wishing to use the certification process to first be members of the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC). General information about CCC Digital Key activities, including membership, can be found at: https://carconnectivity.org/digital-key/

CCC membership enables the developer to register their request for certification with the CCC . Once the request is confirmed by the CCC, a CCC-DK Certification-ID is issued to the developer.

Having obtained a CCC-DK Certification ID, the developer coordinates with a licensed, Authorized Test Lab (ATL) to complete the TrustCB Application Form (developer) and Evaluation Work Plan (ATL).

Evaluation labs for DK Applet Security evaluations are licensed by TrustCB for their technical capabilities, then authorized by CCC as Authorized Test Labs (ATLs).

All ATLs are listed here: https://carconnectivity.org/digital-key/atl-listings/.  Be sure to check for ATL status “DK Applet Security” to identify suitable ATLs for this scheme.
